Energy efficiency
The voluntary agreement based on the implementation of the Energy Efficiency Directive (EED) has proven to be an effective means in Finland for promoting energy-saving and climate actions across various sectors.
The food industry has its own sector-specific action plan under the agreement, coordinated by the Finnish Food and Drink Industries’ Federation (ETL).
The first agreement period for the food industry covered the years 2008–2016. Based on the successful results, the agreements were extended to the current period of 2017–2025. ETL is participating in the new energy efficiency agreement period for 2026–2035.
